sperm | seed | Gymnosperms have their seeds in a cone, like a pine cone, instead of in a fruit. (gymno = bare, sperm = seed, so they are bare seeds) |

spir, spire | breath | Respiration is the process of breaking glucose into usable cellular energy, consuming oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide. |
